Newfangled Lariat: Aqua Green

Over a year ago, I saw a woman in a bead shop wearing a strung necklace. I don't remember any details; what shape the beads were, what colour, what stone, only that it featured a loop as a central element. I sketched the shape that the necklace seemed to be, stashed the paper somewhere, and didn't do anything with the design until this October, when I pulled out the sketch and a mix of beads and started designing.

This is a departure from my usual style of woven jewelry, but man, I'm kind of in love with this idea. It's a lariat necklace; it's claspless, meant to be wrapped around the neck in a variety of ways, and this design has a new aspect. In the center of the strand is a loop, and the two ends can be wrapped around the neck and put through the loop as shown.

This is actually the second model I made of the design, made with amazonite, apatite, silver beads, glass cubes, and a green fluorite teardrop featured in the loop.
